Paradise Kids:: children's charity helping with grief and loss

With all the natural disasters happening in Australia and more recently in NZ this week, one of the issues that can easily be forgotten about, at least in the short term is that of the grief and loss experienced by those who have lost a loved one and in particular children.
One charity working with children dealing with grief and loss is Gold Coast based Paradise Kids.
Paradise Kids was founded in 1996 to help children learn life-skills to deal with grief through death, loss or illness.
The organisation provides a Grief and Loss Support Program for kids which includes activities including art, story telling, breath work, stress reduction exercises, meditation, guided visualisations, movement, music and laughter. In an atmosphere of peer support, and with leadership from professional counsellors, each child is supported individually by a trained volunteer grief counsellor or “buddy”.
Paradise Kids relies solely on donations to continue providing outstanding services to children and their families
